Clan Openings

First of all, the Uchiha clan is dead, with the exception of Sasuke and Itachi. Same with all of the members of the Kaguya clan, with the exception of Kimimaro.

Secondly, from the Hyuuga Main Family only canon characters are allowed.

Thirdly, there are only a few openings in each clan, so if you plan on making a original character for said clan, you'll have to check here first, to see if the clan has an opening.

Joining a Clan

Alright, if you want to join a clan you might need to do a test. So you'll need to PM the clan head (if it's a original clan) or the staff if it's canon. If it's original, you might need a test and the clan head will determine whether or not you pass it. The staff don't affect that so don't bother us about it.

If you're going to apply for one of the following canon clans, then you'll need to get approval by 3 admin/mods instead of the normal two for your character application and roleplay test.

Aburame Clan: Perhaps the most mysterious clan of Konohagakure (Hidden Leaf). Not much is known about this clan, except that they use insects as weapons. The insects are often shown to live in symbiosis with the body of the shinobi.



Akimichi Clan: The Akimichi clan is one of the four noble clans of Konohagakure no Sato. They are able to convert calories into chakra, which they then use in their Hiden jutsu, Baika no Jutsu and its various related jutsu.

The Akimichi clan seems to have a special relationship with the Nara family and Yamanaka family. For two generations, members of these three families have formed an "InoShikaCho trio". Named after the first part of the names of the members. The Akimichi members are the Cho in InoShikaCho.



Hyuuga Clan: One of the oldest and most noble clans in Konoha, the Hyuuga family is split up in two houses: the main house (Soke) and the branch house (Bunke). The members of the Bunke are branded with a Juin (Cursed Seal). This seal gives the Soke members absolute control over the Bunke Members, because they can destroy the Bunke members' brains with a simple hand gesture. This seal also makes sure the secret of the Hyuuga kekkei genkai, the Byakugan, is safe, because it seals the Byakugan after the wearer of the seal dies. The seal only disappears after death.

The Byakugan, literally White Eyes, (or Evil Eye as it is known in the English translations) is a very special condition of the eye that occurs naturally in all members of the Hyuuga clan. While it is believed that the Byakugan is genetically related to the Uchiha clan Sharingan, it is capable of many things the Sharingan is not and as Hatake Kakashi states, in terms of insight the Byakugan surpassed even his own Sharingan.

Used mainly as a taijutsu technique, the Byakugan gives it's user many great abilities including the ability to have a 360 degree field of vision, except for one tiny blind spot behind the first thoraic vertebra, this tiny spot is the only known weakness of this special ability. With the Byakugan activated it's user has the ability to detect anything that moves around them in a 50 foot radius, making the Byakugan a difficult task to fight against. When used with chakra the Byakugan becomes more powerful and can see through most solid matter over extremely long distances and allows it's user to see the inner coil system of the enemy, opening them to an attack on their tenketsu (Chakra Holes) by the hand of the juken (Gentle Fist). Only very advanced users of the Byakugan such as Hyuuga Neji can use the aforementioned juken technique, but when used successfully it can shut off the chakra flow of the opponent which has disastrous effects.

As one of only two known pupil techniques in the Naruto world, the other being the Uchiha clan Sharingan, it is only natural that there are several techniques that can only be used by one who possesses the ability of the Byakugan. These techniques include the Hakkesho Kaiten (Eight Trigram Palms Heavenly Spin) which creates an impenetrable dome barrier of chakra around the user, shielding all physical attacks and is one sure way to defend against the one open blind spot. Other techniques exclusive to the Byakugan are Hakke Rokujuyon Sho (Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms) and Hakke Hyaku Nijuha Sho (Eight Trigrams On Hundred Twenty-Eight Palms) which both make use of the ability to see and strike the tenketsu (Chakra Holes)of the opponent, shutting them down and rendering him unable to use any powerful techniques that involve chakra, and potentially killing him.



Kaguya Clan: The Kaguya clan was responsible for starting a war against the ninja of the mist village and despite their special bloodline ability Shikotsumyaku they suffered a devastating loss in the war. So far we have only seen a single member of the Kaguya clan, and Kimimaro has displayed the Kaguya clans frightening and graphic ability to manipulate their bone structure, they can control the density, the shape and the movement of their bones and use them as weapons that are as sharp as a dagger and very destructive to their opponent. The bodies of those who possess this bloodline are virtually indestructible with their special offense even allowing them to shoot bones out of their fingertips that are as sharp as a spear, any point of contact on their body would cause great damage to their opponent. The most powerful techniques this unique clan possesses are it's many dances that are named after flowers.



Uchiha Clan: Considered to be one of the most powerful clans in Konoha, the Uchiha are highly specialized in fire jutsu like Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique (Katon: Gokakyu no Jutsu) and Katon: Hosenka no Jutsu (Fire Style - Art of the Phoenix Flower, the Touch-me-not). They possess the feared Kekkei genkai (bloodline limit): the Sharingan. It is said that one of the ancestors of the Uchiha clan founded the Konoha Military Police Force (Tokushu Butai, literally special military force). Currently there are only 2 known members left of this clan, Uchiha Sasuke and Uchiha Itachi, this is because Itachi murdered the rest of his clan when he was around 13 years old.

The Sharingan, literally Copy Wheel Eye, is a very special condition of the eye that occurs naturally in some members of the Uchiha Clan. While it is believed to have been derived from the Hyuuga clan Byakugan the abilities of the Sharingan differ greatly from those of the Byakugan. Most notably the Sharingan's most well known ability is to be able to memorize any technique that it has been a witness to including ninjutsu, genjutsu and taijutsu techniques. Other abilities of this very special eye include hypnosis, allowing it's user to suggest actions and thoughts to the opponent. The Sharingan also has the very useful ability to see through any illusionary technique.

Just like the Byakugan, the Sharingan also has one main weakness, while it is not a blind spot as the Byakugan has, this weakness could be more physically dangerous. When used for an extended period of time, in some cases, it drains the chakra of the user quite quickly. Any user of the Sharingan must have a good amount of chakra and stamina in order to successfully copy a technique, however, no amount of chakra will allow it's user to copy the abilities of another clans exclusive bloodline abilities, or allow him to summon a creature with whom he has not made a contract with. Along with all these, the worst opponent a Sharingan user could ever come up against is one who specializes in taijutsu such as Rock Lee. Because no hand seals involving chakra are required for taijutsu they can not easily be copied unless the user has extraordinary amounts of strength, agility, and stamina to keep up with the swift moves of a taijutsu user.

Unlike the Byakugan, the Uchiha clan Sharingan does not appear automatically at birth in an Uchiha clan member. Instead the Sharingan will typically not show up until the user is faced with a life threatening situation, the Sharingan will activate and help to save the life of the user, and after the first appearance of the Sharingan, the user can call upon the use of the Sharingan at any time he pleases. One interesting fact about the Sharingan is that you can gauge the power of the Sharingan user by counting the dots in the person's eye. One dot would be a beginner, two an intermediate, and three dots are found in each eye of a matured adult Sharingan user. It is not unusual to find a user whose two eyes contain different amount of dots, such as Uchiha Sasuke who initially had two dots in one eye, and just a single dot in the other eye, until eventually both eyes evened out as he matured.

Users of the Sharingan include Uchiha Itachi, Uchiha Sasuke, Uchiha Obito (deceased), and Hatake Kakashi. Until revealed in the Kakashi Gaiden storyline, it was always a mystery how Hatake Kakashi, not a member of the Uchiha clan, possessed the Sharingan that is exclusive to the Uchiha clan. We have learned that it is possible to transplant Sharingan eyes from one user to another, as is the case when Uchiha Obito (team-mate of a young Hatake Kakashi) gifted his eye to Kakashi upon his own death, the implant was performed by Rin (team-mate of Hatake Kakashi and Uchiha Obito). The drawback of being an un-natural user of the Sharingan is that it causes much more strain on the body of the user, and unlike natural Sharingan users, they will never be able to achieve the Mangekyou Sharingan that far advanced users such as Uchiha Itachi possess.

The Mangekyou Sharingan, literally Kaleidoscope Copy Wheel Eye, is a higher form of the Uchiha clan Sharingan that is only achievable by natural users of the Sharingan, those who have Uchiha blood running through their veins, eliminating Kakashi from potential users. The Mangekyou Sharingan is not easy to obtain however for those who are not made of cold blood as they must make a tremendous sacrifice in order to obtain it, they must kill their best friend. To date only two people out of a possible three people have obtained this legendary eye, Uchiha Itachi and an unknown Uchiha ancestor. The only other person who could possibly attain the Mangekyou Sharingan is Uchiha Sasuke, to obtain this he would have to kill his best friend, presumably Uzumaki Naruto. With the Mangekyou Sharingan activated one major advantage is to be able to use the three most powerful jutsu possible, two of which have been revealed so far: Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu.

Name: Meimu Clan

Bloodline Name: Kokoro Rinku — Mind Link

Bloodline Description: This ability allows a member of the clan to, well, link minds with any other target, thus giving the clan member the ability to cause truly hellish Genjutsu on their opponent while limiting the afflicted's ability to break free.

Clan Specialty: Genjutsu, Stamina and Intelligence

Clan Appearance: Nearly all members of the clan possess ice-blue eyes as a trait of their usual coldness, but besides that, they have no real identifying characteristics.

History: In the Village Hidden in the Mist, there had always been one clan that was feared beyond all others, and that clan was the Meimu. Though not native to the village, they quickly gained power and favor for their unique abilities. While they possessed little in the way of Ninjutsu or Taijutsu, their bloodline limit made members of the Meimu clan peerless torturers, able to force even the hardest of victims to submit. Because they were able to bypass outwardly defenses, there was no one immune to the clan-members’ Genjutsu, a trait which led to their quick rise up the ranks of ANBU.

After several generations of peaceful—for ninja, at least—lives, this coexistence was ruined by a single, unknown man. A member of the Meimu clan, this man, a right hand of sorts to the village’s Kage, attempted a coup, disappointed with his lack of power. Unfortunately for this man and his clan, a Kage does not die easily, and the coup failed…Miserably…

With his right hand’s death, the Mizukage ordered all members of the clan to be hunted down and killed, regardless of their position. As such, scores of them were killed while on missions, or while simply strolling the streets of the village. A handful, however, were able to flee the village and take residence elsewhere, leaving behind—what else?—Genjutsu to fool the Mist ANBU into thinking they were dead. No longer hunted, the few remaining members of the Meimu clan scattered, trying their best to live normal, shinobi-esque lives.

Name: Nise Kumon [False Torture]
Type: Genjutsu
Element: N/A
Description: An illusion used by the Meimu clan with great efficiency, this Genjutsu causes the opponent to feel as though they are being tortured. Unlike other illusions, however, this one causes no real sensory effects; the afflicted merely feels the pain of torture.

Name: Kiokusoushitsu Shou [Amnesia]
Type: Genjutsu
Element: N/A
Description: Used normally to further feelings of anxiety on their torture victims, this clan jutsu causes the afflicted to forget everything that happened within the last four hours or so. When used properly in battle, it can cause extreme chaos, allowing victory to come that much easier for the clan member.

Name: Atsuryoku [Stress]
Type: Genjutsu
Element: N/A
Description: By entering their opponent's mind, members of the Meimu clan can cause the enemy shinobi to experience horrific feelings of stress and pressure. While normally used to get torture victims to crack earlier, the technique also works in battle; under the stress, the enemy will begin to panic, their moves becoming clumsier and more rushed, thus easier to avoid and counter.

Name: Shi no Sonshitsu [Loss of Limb]
Type: Genjutsu
Element: N/A
Description: Another illusion, this causes the afflicted to believe they have just lost a limb, usually in a horrifically bloody way. Not seeing or feeling the chosen appendage, the afflicted can no longer move it, thus disabling them in battle.

Name: Fukaikan [Nightmare]
Type: Genjutsu
Element: N/A
Description: Much like the Hell-Viewing technique, this causes the afflicted to see an image of the user’s choice; however, unlike it, the afflicted experiences everything in this illusion as though it was real. The pain of watching a loved one die can not compare to the pain of, say…Doing it yourself…
