Serph appears arrogant, aggressive and violent to most people because of his short temper. He's actually pretty nice once you get to know him, but he still tends to be a bit arrogant and stubborn. He hates admitting he's wrong and hates loosing even more then that. He is also often mistaken for a (underdeveloped) women at first when meeting others, which really pisses him off.
Serph's very strong willed and has even been thought to be overconfident and prideful, especially if he's on a winning streak. He's a bit sadistic and takes pleasure in messing with peoples heads, particularly those of his opponents. He keeps strong and loyal bonds with anyone that he feels earns it. There are few things he enjoys more than combat, most of which include violence, profanity, and gambling. He is impulsive, impatient, and more often then not ends up resort to physical violence over verbal negotiation.

Family History:
Ken Yamanaka is jounin level ninja that came from not only a long line of ninja, but a long line of bandit's and cut-throats. He's much like his son in many ways, but is more mature and controlled. During his youth, Ken was a skilled shinobi, that saw his first battle is the third Secret war. Due to this he's very battle hardy and a bit of a war-monger. He had nearly lost his life when kyuubi attacked Konoha. After time he recovered but still retains many scars from that battle.
Megumi Yamanaka was a dancer at a 'club' that Ken Yamanaka would frequent often. They often spoke to one another during her off hours. However like most fame, Megumi was replaced by a younger girl. She was dis hearted and had no place to go when Ken purposed to her (this was a few years before the attack of Kyuubi). Megumi accepted the proposal gladly and even started a flower shop in Konoha to help earn money. After the Attack by Kyuubi, Megumi had Serph and 8 years later had a little girl named Aya.
Character History:
From the moment He was born, there had been problems in Serph's life. He was a problem birth and had decided half way through being born that he wasn't ready yet and just sitting between the womb and the exit. Unfortunately for him, the Medical nin used surgery to help bring him into the world weather he liked it or not. Serph's father started teaching him at the age of 5 how to properly hold a sword, use shuriken and kunai and the basics of combat. His father made it sort of a game for Serph and is one of the things that made him and his father bond as well as they did. When ever his father was home and nor resting or training they were together training with one another. His mother was very supportive and although he loves his mother he feel more attachment to his father.
When Serph entered the academy, he used to get into a lot of fights do to misunderstandings that triggered his short temper. Most of which, were due to guys mistaking Serph for a 'cute girl'. Now, Serph's father, Ken thought it was great that his son was getting into fight. He saw it as his child sharpening his skills, making friends and teaching other boys a lesson. His mother however did not see it this way, and for a non - kunoichi, she could deliver a mighty good beating as Serph discovered after his first day of fights. This however didn't stop him from doing such things, and soon it became more or less a route for Serph to get home and receive a beating and lecture from his mother. The fact that Serph's reading and writing grades were horrid didn't help matters.
During his time at the Academy, Serph started to get into other bad things beyond just school fights. Things like vandalism, and in school gambling among other students. These things however he managed not to get caught doing. One incident however happened to him that made him give up vandalism. Serph had broken a window in the old Uchiha Mansion and had pissed the Uchiha surviver. The Uchiha got revenge on Serph by using a Katon attack on him. Serph avoided any major injuries by running and trying to block with his left arm. Which worked but badly injured his left arm. Thus a his father spoke with a medical nin and a blacksmith and had Serph's (unusable) left arm replaced with a prosthetic, clawed gauntlet, which his father saw as suitable for a warrior. When asked, Serph said that he'd broken the window on accident while playing sports.
Serph doesn't get along too well with his little sister and sees her more as an annoyance, though she seems to adore him. His sister is a lot like his mother, but she tries to be more like her big Brother because she thinks it's cool. Otherwise there isn't much to say about Serph's relationship with little Aya. Serph has grown used to having a prosthetic over the last few years and doesn't seem to really hold a grudge against the Uchiha that inflicted the damage on him. After graduating to Genin, Serph waits to hear about team assignments, and start the next level of his life as a shinobi.
