**Nickname: Stick
Age: 13
Gender: Female
Rank: Genin
Specialty: Swordsmanship
Home Village: Konohagakue
Graduation Dates/Ages: May 7th, Age: 12-Graduate to Genin
Personality: Rough around the edges doesn’t even begin to cover it when trying to describe Yakkai’s personality. Raised to be the uncomplaining, do-what-you’re-told-and-shaddup kind of person she lacks proper etiquette. Though she was told to respect her elders and never question higher authority Yakkai will quickly drop this trait when it comes to speaking with her own peers. A particularly opinionated person, it is more than a chore to speak without her odd accent and blatant misuse of proper grammar and pronunciation. She addresses people her age in an often rude and offensive manner, only acting with purely good intentions to those who are close friends.
In spars and in real battle, Yakkai acts upon common sense and any obvious openings. Rather than bothering in learning about fancy strategic moves and all that junk she rather use bullish strength along with the occasional trick or two.
**Likes: Competition, climbing trees, stars, quiet, the sound crickets make, sweets, and the farm life.
**Dislikes: Snooty people, excess noise, small dogs, complaining, inquisitive idiots.
Clan/Organization: None, unless the Yuwaku Family Farm counts.

Family and History
Family: Grandmother-79-Vetiranarian: Aki Yuwaku Grandfather-84-Retired Shinobi: Hisao Yuwaku Mother-42-Stable Hand: Jun Yawaku Father-50-Retired Shinobi/Farm Lead: Iwao Yuwaku Brother-10-Farm Boy: Daichi Yuwaku
Family History: The Yuwaku family has it’s origins in some of the first agricultural settlements of the Fire Country. When first established, they fed the once small, new village that would one day become the great ninja village of Konohagakure. As the village grew so did the need for food. At this time, the Yuwaku’s helped in the development of neighboring farms, though theirs remained one of the largest. Growing more than just food, they bred poultry, pigs, and cattle to be slaughtered.
The industry grew, yet their farm remained one of the true “family” farms. At times, the children of the family would leave their home to aid in the Shinobi Wars. Mostly, they served as grunt work, aiding in cooking and providing horses for the men and women at war. Yet, over time sons and daughters of the Yuwaku’s ended up becoming ninjas to break free from the sometimes mundane and labor-intensive of the farm.
On a rather violent day on the battlefields of the last shinobi war, Hisao Yuwaku was forced to retire from the fight when an injury to his knee rendered him useless in combat. The active veterinarian for the horses and messenger birds of the squadron was busy writing a letter of the recently deceased to the Hokage when Hisao dragged himself into the tent in which she resided at the time and asked for help. Since the medic-nins were attending to those fighting at the front line and Hisao was attacked during a solo assassination mission, Aki Takara was left to heal his wound the old fashion way.
After spending a few weeks with each other, seeing as Hisao was taken off his squadron, Aki followed due to a bit of a crush and a lie that said she was, “Assigned to be his caretaker.”. When the Yuwaku recovered he invited Aki to join him. Since the Takara family worked as traders and marketers, she was forced to leave her home village of Konoha and join her now titled boyfriend to live with him in the rural flat lands of the country. Time went on, and Aki married in the Yuwaku family.
Adopting the main farm in later years of their marriage, Aki and Hisao had children. A similar story occurred in what seemed like only a dry season, the son, Iwao of Aki and Hisao married a local farm girl named, Jun Usagi. Both of them took up the duties of the now famous farm with pride.
Though a bit disappointed, Iwao and his wife had a girl whom they named, Yakkai. She was brought up on the farm as tradition says for the Yuwaku’s, but her father was more than proud when Yakkai asked to join Konoha’s academy and travel the path of a ninja. Besides, that gave the couple a chance to actually raise a boy who could run a farm in the future.
Character History:
Birth to 7 Born as a spring baby, she was raised without many horrible things going on around her. The most that ever happened was perhaps a main milking cow died and the need to find an equivalent of the cow was needed to not lose profits for their work. That was the peaceful or mundane life in some people’s eyes that Yakkai was raised in.
As an infant her grandma’ took care of her in the day time while the rest of the small family worked. She would be sung lullabies before she slipped into a nap and told folk tales and stories of the ninja wars and the like. The greatest entertainment would come on weekends for the young Yakkai. Weekends brought the need to tally up the week’s outcome from their work and prepare it for shipping out to either Konoha or to Suna, depending on the need. That wasn’t the fun part though. It was also time for competition such as horse races, rooster fighting, and many other games. These events were just like those of festivals of the big villages and clans.
When her brother was born, Yakkai was 3 years-old and it was a much welcomed event. Only when they both got a little bit older did the sibling rivalry start. Even dumb things like daily chores became to the death matches of skill. ‘Can you pick corn faster than I can?!’, or how about the infamous challenge, ‘How fast can you eat a whole watermelon?!” Thus, when Yakkai was 6 and Daichi 4 they both fought, literally wrestling each other to the ground before one cried uncle or the other was bleeding.
Eventually, this violence turned constructive when their grandfather became a bit too old for the labor of the farm. Since the father never had much time except in the evening to even bother telling the children about his past as a shinobi, Hisao took up this task. The children were fascinated, especially Yakkai who was told when she was old enough and if she wanted, she could go off to the ninja academy in their main customer for goods, the Village Hidden in Leaves.
Since Daichi was a bit too young for any type of informal training of this type, Yakkai was the only one of the children who were shown and taught basic ideals and shinobi fighting skill by their grandpa’. Strangely enough the country lovin’ girl soon became dedicated to learning about these brave men and women of Konoha’s shinobi corps. She wanted to know everything her grandpa’ had to say and was knowledge hungry for any tid-bit. To her surprise too, after learning all this for one year while still having time to do her chores and enjoy the other leisure activities of the community her wish to become a ninja would be answered on her 7th birthday.
When that birthday did come around two very important things occurred. Yakkai was granted permission to join the ninja academy in Konoha while living in Konoha, given her own horse for transportation, and the two broadswords that her grandfather used when he was a ninja. Totally ecstatic, that night she packed her bags and headed out the next morning with her father as an escort.
Age 8 to 12 Settling down in a not-to-clean-nor-sturdy home close to the main residential area, Yakkai didn’t really care about her living conditions. The horse that was now hers was boarded in a very small, make-shift stall that she built herself (with a less then beautiful outcome). It didn’t matter to what her living standards were, because half the time she wasn’t even home to care. Nope, most of the time Yakkai was training by herself or at the academy learning the ninja basic straight from the horse’s mouth.
It did take quite some time for her to adapt to the city of Konoha and was often make fun of for the way she talked. Occasionally she would go back home on the weekends to visit her family, but that slowly wore off and she only made contact with them via letters most the time. This was due to the fact that her training became a bit more intense and of course social life started to become a prime factor in everyone’s life at that age.
Yakkai wasn’t exactly skilled in Ninjutsu whatsoever. Instead she tried to earn her keep becoming a specialist in Ninjutsu. The reason why she didn’t have a satisfying level of chakra was concluded by Yakkai to be due to the fact that she was never really around other ninjas’ except for her retired grandpa’ and father. Of course, the girl didn’t know much about any of that, but she didn’t really care. All she wanted to do, after living in Konoha for a few years was grow up to be some very important protector of the village. Luckily, she learned quickly enough about the ninja village to be considered a bit more part of the “group” after living there for a few years.
“Stick” was a nickname given to her by a stupid, popular boy who was the first to call attention to Yakkai’s passive habit of biting a long blade of grass all day long. Soon, just like most kids do, most of the children from the academy began to call her the semi-rude name without really thinking. It was mostly an excuse in Yakkai’s mind for them to make fun of her for her strange habits and awkwardness in most activities.
Time went on and with much practice Yakkai finally managed to successfully perform all three of the basic ninjutsus required to pass onto the status of Genin. It was difficult for her, but she was determined to follow in the path of the people in all the stories that she had heard about great warriors and strong female shinobis, like the Sannin Tsunade. Oddly enough the aggressive girl won many spars simply because of the fact that she was physically strong. The broadswords that she had practiced every day with were intergrated in many of the taijutsus she learned.
Time came to become part of a cell. This didn’t go over terribly well and Yakkai often got in verbal fights with her fellow teammates. Actually, she was down right mean to them sometimes when they screwed up or said something incredibly ignorant. Her Jounin at the time often ignored this behavior unless it became a physical fight, which it sometimes did. Despite all this, they were a well balanced team and completed many D rank missions and a C rank mission or two.
Time came for the Chuunin exams and to put it quite frankly, they failed horribly. Yakkai blamed her team mates which turned their already unstable relationship stale. In the end the team was split up and all of them had to endure trying to find another team.
Thus now Yakkai waits for another team to be placed on. In the mean time she practices her horsemanship and overall all aspects of being a Genin, trying to avoid her old team mates.
