General Info
Name: Amaya Uesugi
**Nickname: N/A
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Rank: Jounin
Specialty: Staff Combat
Home Village: Hidden Village of Konoha
Graduation Dates/Ages:
Genin – 12
Chuunin – 14
Jounin - 21
Personality:
Amaya is considered fierce by most people’s point of view, but she just has high standards and hopes for all those around here, even herself. She likes it when things are done perfectly and precisely, which also affects her everyday life outside her shinobi life. She can be harsh at times, due to the fact of her obsession with perfection which makes people sometimes wish they never had been born. She loves things that are clean and orderly, hating it when things are out of place. She truly is not a horrible person, she just likes it when things end up the way she wants them to end. She could be considered a control freak by some people, but that is rather normal for a Jounin, isn’t it?
She often compares others to herself, thinking that the standards she set are typical for everyone else without exceptions. She isn't very conceited though she often thinks that she is far more superior then any other person. She always is over-thinking things, always thinking that she could've done better. She always is going over what she has done and said in the past before she goes to sleep at night. She often cares about small details that usually don't matter to other people. She often lashes out at people when they do something wrong that she finds easy. She has a very odd perspective on work ethic and the world in general.
Amaya values her superiors opinions of her very highly and loves to be praised. She seems to live for success and being told it was a job well done, like a young child would. She craves to become someone the Kage can depend on. She often does stupid things to get that approval, sometimes losing her friends. She doesn't care much though in the moment but she often regrets it later.
Amaya can be a hateful and times when people don't follow her advice or plans, saying that they mess everything up. She often feels that others are inferior to her and hate it when they just "can't deal with the pressure" and leaves her alone. She can be very short tempered at times and often snaps at people when they make mistakes. She has good intentions as times, she just hates mistakes.

Character Appearance
Amaya Uesugi
Eyes:
Some people describe her as an emotionless woman with a cold stare that follows you all the time and examines every step you make. Some parts of that statement are true, but why do they think so in the first place? Clearly it is because of her grey eyes that show their true nature just before killing another person.
Hair:
Some say that Amaya's hair makes others think she is a young poor lady, that desperately seeks for a few coins just to feed herself. Well, those people are wrong. Even if she doesn't look like the person that combs her hair for a few hours everyday, she tends to spent at least a minimum of an hour on her short purple hair which as a result doesn't even seem change. Still, she is always happy with the way her hair looks in the end. The front compared to the back looks a lot more ordered and symmetric, since she has a very short pigtail on the left side of her back head, but lacks one on the right side.
Physical Description:
Amaya is of average height, she stands at 5'5" feet, not making her seem very imposing. She has an odd figure though which makes her so-to-say unique. Her legs are long and muscular making running for her a lot easier. Her arms are as well long and muscular, but doesn’t seem to be that clearly visible. Her hips are relatively narrow for her size and height, but she hides that under her long poncho-like robe.
Her face is oval shaped and her skin is pale. It gives her an almost dainty appearance, a misleading characteristic of hers. Her nose is relatively small but it’s a bit witch-like and curving up slightly at the end, making her face seem out of proportion. Her eyes are spaced a bit far apart and are a pale, cold blue.
Amaya's hair is dark purple and ends in the middle of her neck. It is thin and greasy, giving it an unhealthy shine. Even if she doesn't look like the person that combs her hair for a few hours everyday, she tends to spent a minimum of an hour on her short purple hair which as a result doesn't even seem change. Still, she is always happy with the way her hair looks in the end. The front compared to the back looks a lot more ordered and symmetric, since she has a very short pigtail on the left side of her back head, but lacks one on the right side.
Amaya as said before has pale skin that is burnt easily by the sun, resulting in painfully sunburns on her arms and neck. She never really has been fond of getting scarred up, so she always finds one way or another to heal all the scars she may get in battle. She does have one scar that goes down her left arm, from her shoulder to her elbow. It was from a simple training incident, no big battles to brag about or anything.
Attire:
Because she tends to be burnt pretty easily, she wears a long poncho-like robe that protects her from the burning sun. It’s inside is colored in a slight grey-ish red while the outside is dark olive. It is very damaged and worn out, this is nothing unusual, she had this piece of material since her childhood and doesn’t even think about throwing this memory away, not after all these years. Under it Amaya wears clothing that is not made for comfort but for speed, dressed in a almost sleeveless black shirt and matching shorts. Since she is a speed demon, she needs those clothes to use up her entire potential in and outside a battle. Both pieces have no pockets, which is not really of disadvantage for Amaya since she has her trusty dark brown belt to hide her weapons. Over her simple black shirt, she wears the usual Jounin vest which of course is colored in a grass green color. Stocked up with various pockets to hide her All of this is safely hidden under her robe making her seem defenseless, but in fact is one large weapon arsenal. Her main weapon, meaning the staff, is in fact a tact that consist of 3 different pieces. This allows her to stock more weapons without becoming dangerous on first glance. Her feet are protected by long shoes that go up to her knees, they are as well colored in a dark color. She wears knee protectors to well…protect her from injuries when falling down or doing other rather dare devil-like stunts. Although she dislikes wearing hats there is still something that makes her feel good even if it is resting on her head. This artifact is well-known by the shinobi, it is the proof of her authority, the official konoha forehead protector. She never seems to take it off, even though it can bother her while sleeping or doing other activities.

Family and History
Family:
Sano – Father; Jounin
Yuri – Mother; Jounin
Yurika – Sister; Jounin
Yoki – Brother; Dead
Family History:
The Uesugi family doesn’t really have a history of it’s own, only it’s members. The first person to bear the surname Uesugi was Sakura. A young, but mighty woman that had died in battle, leaving behind a single baby and a caring father. That baby was Kei, he as well grew up to become a shinobi, of the leaves. His rank grew above Genin, meaning he was a Chuunin and stayed so till his death. He left behind two young children, Yuri and Saiko, the younger baby, meaning Saiko, died at birth while Yuri grew up to a honorable Jounin. She married a young man, Sano, at the age of 24 and both continued life with the names of Uesugi.
Character History:
Amaya was born to two high ranking jounin, Sano and Yuri Uesugi. Amaya was their third child, five years younger than their first born daughter Yurika and seven years younger than their first born son, Yoki. She was raised in an environment full of pressure and the thirst for winning. Her brother was excelling at the ninja academy almost in the same moment Amaya became old enough to understand her family and be able to talk. Yurika was doing just as well, causing her parents to be very happy and expect another ninja prodigy in the Uesugi family.
The only problem was, Amaya wasn't very interesting in being a fighting ninja as she grew older and began to understand the manner of ninja. By the time she was seven she decided on the notion of becoming a medical-nin and helping people get better. Her parents, especially her mother, hated the idea of their youngest becoming a doctor instead of a fighter and not holding up the honor of the family. When it was time for Amaya to go to the ninja Academy, she had to be forced in but not without a fight. The young girl screamed and cried all the way, the first example of how stubborn she was going to become in the future.
Amaya finally began her studies at the Ninja Academy after her parents yelled at her and said she was dishonoring the family. She had always loved the feeling of being praised by her parents so she worked harder and harder to become better and to finally earn respect from her parents. This made her become a bit of a control freak, especially when she worked in groups. She would take over the group, determined on succeeding which not always seemed to work.
This pressure shaped her into the person she is today. She would always blame her failure on others, saying if they didn't mess up then everything would've worked out well. The teachers grew tired of Amaya's antics and counted off the days until she would graduate.
When Amaya turned twelve she earned the rank of genin as well as her oh-so-beloved forehead protector. She was put in a group with her childhood friend Kenji and another boy named Hiko. They worked relatively well together and took the chuunin exams, 2 years later. They all passed although almost died in the second test. While Kenji passed, both of them began to work hard and intense to become jounin when they got older.
There was one problem though, Amaya's brother Yoki fell under a horrible sickness that caused him to tied to the bed. Amaya’s parents were devastated and spent most of their time taking care of the poor Yoki which Amaya as well loved and helped become well. But their efforts were futile because by the time Amaya was fifteen and had already done a couple successful C ranked missions, Yoki died in his sleep. Before Yoki died in his peaceful slumber, he gave Amaya his beloved cloak together with words that burned into her mind forever; “When you stand alone on the battlefield you must remember that you are not alone in the world.” The Uesugi family fell into a long stage of grief that didn’t seem to stop. Amaya had always been a little jealous of her brother because of how her parents always praised him a lot more, but she missed him and swore that she would do his memory proud as she was the younger sister of Yoki.
The determined shinobi trained relentlessly and became even more harsh and fierce, trying to become a jounin by her nineteenth birthday. Her older sister had become a jounin by this time also and had been married to another jounin named Hitachi Minamoto. Hitachi was impressed by Amaya's efforts to become a jounin and offered her a helping hand. She turned the offer down, saying that she needed to do this by herself without the help of anyone.
Kenji was the one who spent most of his time around Amaya for the next three years of her life. She seemed to keep out everyone else, only having time to train, eat and sleep. Kenji often helped her practice and taught her how to use a bo staff, as he had learned from his older brother. Pleased by his offer, she accepted and began to slowly master the arts of staff fighting. Amaya knew Kenji very good, she felt that honor and pride wasn't important when he was around. It wasn't really love or anything, they were just close friends they could rely on. She got use to this weapon and made it her main attack method.
By her eighteenth birthday, Amaya took the jounin exams but did not get in right away. She had to take it over 10 times. Everytime she felt she came back with wounds, scratches and a broken heart. The day of her 20th birthday came. She didn't spend that day very joyful. Her prediction had been wrong. She felt that she could never be equal to her big sister. It was as if all hell broke lose. She once again started to train. This time she crossed the line. Everyday, she trained as if she was fighting the devil in person. No sleep, no food, no water, for almost 4 days. Yet she continued. On the next day and probably last day of her training she suffered of a really bad injury. As well as a broken foot and could not attend the Jounin exam once again. The gap of almost 8 months she had missed, was reason enough to take a break for a while and continue her missions for now. After once again succeding in a few C ranked tasks, she became 21. That year should mark the beginning of her new life as a Jounin. Her iron will to pass the test had finally came. She passed the test with a few very bad injuries, but could make it. While Kenji who passed the test a year before Amaya, had already left the village with his team. She felt as if he had forgotten about the poor woman, the possibly only real friend she had was gone. In that moment she understood a new rule in the life of a ninja. Rely on your team when your still Genin or Chuunin, but forget them when you become Jounin. She was not yet put into a cell with another Jounin, or two. She awaits the day she gets a partner to work together with but not really desires it, maybe her own team to train would be most fitting. Who knows, anything could happen now.

Fighting Style:
Shinjinbukai Sutaffu Kata (Godly Staff Style)
As the name could already point out, this style is weapon based, mainly on the staff. Unlike many others, this style maintains a balance in physical development. The user must keep a cool, unprovoked manner and focus on both strength and chakra control during even the most fierce battles. Rarely does someone volunteer to learn this style, since it is relatively slow and wastes a lot of energy. Yet those who seem to somewhat master it are quickly driven to put in more speed as well as accuracy into their deadly blows. Although sometimes meant to be a more defensive then attack based fighting style, the user is capable of countering the attacks of others as well as delivering attacks which can often cause massive damage.
