Hoshiko could feel his flesh touch the girl’s as his punch successfully penetrated the girl’s defense, but alas, only a cloud of white smoke became apparent. ‘Substitution.’ Hoshiko thought to himself, back flipping until he felt his foot hit something. He quickly spun off the object and landed on his feet, looking at whatever hit his foot. ‘Wait, how did she end up on the ground?’ Hoshiko began to laugh a bit, realizing what happened.
“Is that the reason why you failed the Chuunin Exam?” Hoshiko half asked half answered himself. ‘She’s also a master at basic jutsu. I think I’ve gathered enough information about her, now’s the time to be serious with this little spar game.’ Hoshiko grinned, starring Yakkai down.
“Shall we continue?” Hoshiko asked, this time flying through a few hand seals. “Kanashibari no Jutsu!” The boy would shout after finishing the required hand seals. Juts like he practiced, he aimed the jutsu directly at the girl, mostly keeping her within his acquired target range. ‘If everything goes right, this spar will be done in little to no time.’ Hoshiko looked into the eyes of Yakkai, now trying to make the jutsu take effect.
----OOC---- Name: Kanashibari no Jutsu - Temporary Paralysis Technique Description: This technique is used to cause one's opponent to lose the advantage of movement. Freezing them in their tracks, this creates an opening for a more dangerous attack.

“Is that the reason why you failed the Chuunin Exam?”
"Hardy-har-har, yo're a coomic genius." Pouting this back to the jeering Hoshiko, Yakkai dusted herself off now standing with the handle of the sword in her mouth which accounted for her odd pronunciation. Now inside of her mind she was groaning and roaring with anger at the stupid move she made. It wasn't a miscalculation as some shinobi might boast about, because she didn't make any calculation during a fight instead going with the flow of a fight.
The two genin were for now in a tie for first place in the race of the battle. Any little turn could determine the outcome and Yakkai knew this. A few ideas popped into her mind and began to be shifted through as to what the next attack on this boy was going to be.
When Hoshiko spoke again she was ready. More ready than she was before 'cause now she was driven by more than the want for some fun, but to prove that she was just as good or better than this kid. Grinding her teeth, snapping the stalk in two Yakkai's eyes met Hoshikos' and her hand went up to retrieve the blade in her mouth, holding it in an attack position.
Now, time to run head on into-Scratch that.
"Wha' tee hell!?" Furious now, not even trying to subdue her temper Yakkai try as she might tightened and loosened every muscle in her body in a vain attempt to move forward. Freakin' jutsu! Growling vocally now. Yakkai's brow furrowed before she shouted,
"Cheap trick, damn it!"

Hoshiko laughed a bit as the girl stood within his jutsu, unable to move at all. ‘Well, I have her where I want her, but I’m not going to end this spar so quickly.’ Hoshiko pulled out five shuriken. He would smirk a bit after thinking to himself what the girl would think when she saw the shinobi tools. “How good do you think I can aim?” Hoshiko asked the girl. He wanted to toy with her mind a bit, but she probably knew he wasn’t going to hurt her in a spar; at least, that’s what happened usually. No one ended up hurt.
“There are many pressure points of the body.” Hoshiko said, grinning a bit as he eyed the girl. Hoshiko threw a single kunai at the girl’s right ear, but he wasn’t aiming to hit, instead he was aiming to miss. He didn’t want to actually her anyone in a sparring match. “Well, that’s one that missed.” Hoshiko would say laughing a bit. “Well, I have four more, so there’s no problem with only one missing.” Hoshiko then threw two kunai at a time, towards the left ear of the girl, aimed to miss, and one just above the girl’s head that was aimed to miss also.
“My aims really off today.” Hoshiko would said to the girl. Not only did he want the girl to know that he could have won the match, but he also wanted her to know why he isn’t considered a Genin anymore. “Well, I guess I have two left.” Hoshiko would smirk a bit. “And I think my aim gets better as I go along. The more I throw, the better I get. You’ve ever heard of that before?” Hoshiko would speed a kunai a ways off from the girl, quite near his fox. It would land in front of the fox, only as a tool to wake the small animal up from its slumber.
“Don’t tell me you’re scared too Ayano!” Hoshiko would laugh again. The fox would only grab a hold of the kunai with its mouth and begin to gnaw on it. “Well, there is one last kunai. I guess I should be less careless with my kunai.” Hoshiko grinned, tossing the kunai in front of the girl’s feet. “That’s enough playing around I guess. Care to continue?” Hoshiko said, a bit sure the jutsu would have worn off by now.

Gulping hard at the sight, Yakkai felt a shiver shake from head to toe, but she couldn't tell if it was caused by her own fright or the breeze. It was unbearable! Hoshiko standing there moving about with those weapons and she couldn't do a damn thing about it! Argh! It was almost sickening to her stomach and this contorted feeling showed up in her expression. The taunting she received wasn't welcomed either.
“There are many pressure points of the body.”
Yes, yes, keep going as the eye rolling continues. She was annoyed, anxious about the release of the jutsu while continuing to struggle against it. Yet all at the same time Yakkai was nervous about the premise of those kunai and shuriken. Perhaps Hoshiko wasn't as kind as he seemed and was going to go overboard in this spar. No time to think as the first blade flew and her body braced for anything, eyes closing shut.
The eyelids snapped open just before wrinkling up again in unbridled loathing and frustration. "Stop fuckin' wit' me!"
“Well, I have four more, so there’s no problem with only one missing.”
Even though she didn't, Yakkai thought she moved her head out of the way of those kunai (but only barely, either way). This kid was screwin' with her and it made her stomach sink in fear and her brow furrow in anger and a rising temper. Hopefully this would stay under control and develop into a more constructive attack.
“And I think my aim gets better as I go along. The more I throw, the better I get. You’ve ever heard of that before?”
Now stressed with beads of sweat rolling from her temple she strained to look to the side at the fox even though it didn't matter. The sound of the kunai thunking into the dirt and grass brought her attention preying back upon Hoshiko. Damn straight that enough playin' 'round! Finally her struggling payed off! She could move! Now was the time to get her anger out.
A practice step was made before bolting head long at Hoshiko yelling out her frustration before, for the fun of it completing the hand signs and muttering, "Henge." Now, just for laughs and the WTF factor she was the Hokage holding the broadswords high and going to dig them down upon the boy, yelling out the entire way.
Now, if she was close enough in the quick, sharp fury of her movements she would shout, "Konoha Shoufuu!" It was an attempt to simply knock Hoshiko's guard away to make an attempt at headbutting him in the chest. "Got'cha'!}
((Konoha Shoufuu - Leaf Rising Wind- Using quickness and agility, the user will do a swift upwards kick at his or her opponent or at a weapon his or her opponent is wielding.))

Hoshiko wasn’t surprised at all when the girl broke out his jutsu. She was infact close to his level, so he wouldn’t have thought she would have stayed like that for long. ‘Hmm… What does she do now?’ Hoshiko asked himself as he only starred at the girl. He was smart enough to tell that she was about to come in for a close ranged shot. It seemed her fighting style was bound to Taijutsu, and Hoshiko knew how to take someone down if they needed to come into close contact. ‘She won’t put another scratch on me.’ Hoshiko thought to himself as he watched the girl transform into a puff of smoke.
Out of the smoke came the Hokage, holding blades coming in at Hoshiko. ‘Why would she…’ Hoshiko only paused for a second in his thoughts as he quickly blazed through a few hand seals. Just before the girl attacked him a log replaced his position, but the log wasn’t in the clear. The log actually took the attack for Hoshiko. Hoshiko himself placed himself into a tree, hiding and watching the girl’s movements. ‘Whoever said that basic jutsu sucked, was lying.’ Hoshiko thought to himself; trying to catch a quick breathe before jumping back into battle.

If that log was Hoshiko he would've been in for a very, very restless night because if you listened hard enough you could hear even that log cry. Yakkai's heel slammed into the ground, forcibly throwing grass into the air to halt the figure who's momentum was at an all time high. The tips of the swords were pointed down, loose, relaxed and a bit tired. She huffed and puffed staring at the far off log that should've been Hoshiko. "Shit." Spatting beneath her gasps for a cool breath she snorted in great annoyance at her current situation.
Now for the realization.
Releasing her jutsu and reverting back to her regular stature and appearance she inwardly groaned at the disappearance of her sparring partner.
As they say, it was almost too quiet now and that coldness she asked for before was now unwelcomed. Yakkai looked around quickly, making sure to double check every corner of her vision before turning around (more like a paranoid jump) and doing the same thing. Her breath began to slow, making an attempt to hear anything that would indicate Hoshiko's location.
"Come out, come out, were' eva' you are..." Well, he couldn't be hiding in the air and he wasn't out in the open so one would conclude somewhere in the trees. Creeping in a playful exaggerated matter into the trees she finally pounced, making the swords swoop down through a few low lying branches, cutting them in half. Now, she looked again and around again backing up slowly she she would be safe one again in the open grass.

Hoshiko nearly fell out of the tree when Yakkai cut the branches in half. If it wasn’t for his chakra control, he would have definitely been sliced by one of Yakkai’s blades. He was hanging by his left ninja sandal on a branch that Yakkai cut. ‘Is she going to cut me for real?’ Hoshiko asked himself, now doubting whether or not he should keep toying with the girl that was his sparring partner. ‘If I continue playing like this, then I could end up hurt.’
Hoshiko flipped down from the branch that he was hanging on, now definitely in Yakkai’s eye sight. He was standing at least five feet away from her. He pulled out two kunai, one for either hand, and held them as small daggers. “You know, I’m not so bad in close range fighting myself.” Hoshiko said to her. He was sure that he could keep up with the girl’s fast techniques, but only for so long.
Hoshiko rushed in on the girl holding his two kunai behind him. He was coming in for a close-ranged attack, but only if she were to strike him a log would replace his position. He would then appear behind the girl, holding the kunai in his right hand to Yakkai’s neck. He wouldn’t cut her neck, but would only stop to see the beads of sweat rolling off of her forehead. “Come on.” Hoshiko would say afterwards, drawing his kunai back.

Barely, just barely her ears managed to pick up the sound of rustling leaves and snapping twigs caused by Hoshiko's descent. Yakkai was alert at this, turning toward the confusing origin of it as best she could and slapping her swords into a defensive move. Her head spun a bit, but managed to calm down rather quickly with a bit of will power helping. Now, eyes were glued upon her sparring partner while a wary, almost tired smile pretended to look strong.
"Kunai? They won't do much for ya'." A light jeer, Yakkai's fast movements from before were fading with the added stress of the spar and the physical labor that was draining her resources too quickly made her overall tired. The spar had to go on until she won, even if it meant fainting from heat stroke.
When the boy took off into a run, the blades met with each other, sending that screeching sound echoing through the air announcing dominance before the boy even got close enough with in range. Oh, but when he was about two steps away those blades came down, aiming for his shoulders, but only cracked into wood on their way down. Not thinking with a clear mind any longer Yakkai fell into his trap.
She held her breath when the coldness of the kunai radiating onto her skin. Luckily a somewhat calm (or fearing) frown stayed on her face, scared to death of the blade at her throat. Those moments felt like hours when your life was in the hands of another. Shit... Her own swords were lowered near her side, not really have much use in this situation until...
“Come on.”
This would be her last boost of speed and power until she completely wore out and collapsed, so here it was. When Hoshiko moved his weapon away Yakkai reacted instantly reaching out with both blades as to slice him on the right side or arm. If she managed to hit or not hit, either way she would fall in her exhaustion and stay there, only with her swords out to protect from further attack while she rested (or was it pass out?).

Hoshiko eyes both lit up as they watched the blades of Yakkai. They both were swung at him, and the movement was as fast as last time. With almost no time to react Hoshiko just barley jumped back with a quick motion. Only the right sleeve of his sheath was cut, her blades not touching the boy’s skin at all. ‘That would have hurt.’ Hoshiko thought to himself, looking at the damage that was done to his sheath.
His gaze from his sheath quickly turned to the girl as he saw her falling to the ground. Hoshiko quickly stretched his arms out, catching the girl before she hit the ground. He would then softly rest the girl down softly on the grass below her. ‘I wonder why she fell out. Maybe it was because of the strain put on her body. Hmm…’ Hoshiko looked at the girl while she was down.
‘Should I stay here with her, or should I leave. I couldn’t leave her here alone, and the sky agrees with me.’ Hoshiko looked up to the sky to see the sun leaving, and the moon jeering its head out in the evening’s sky. ‘But she’s a shinobi, nobody should mess with her, but then again, she doesn’t look like she’ll be able to fend someone off with her falling out like that.’
Hoshiko sighed, looking over to Ayano. The fox was silently asleep; it must have been bored and nodded off while Hoshiko and Yakkai were sparring. ‘Well, I’ll be her look out, I guess until she get’s up.’ Hoshiko thought to himself, jumping into a nearby tree, sitting on a branch, looking at the moon as it arose. ‘Let’s just hope it’s before I go to sleep as well.’ Hoshiko thought, looking up happily at the moon’s radiant glow.

It took some time before Yakkai came back into the realm of the living. In that time she never actually stirred as if having a restless sleep but instead lied perfectly still, body totally relaxed except for her fingers which strained to keep the blades in the air. The thing that did seem to awake her was the increasingly colder air that hung about her. When a paticulary chilling breeze brushed agaisnt her face Yakkai literally leaped up, scared, tense and wide-eyed, the swords forward once again.
It actually took minutes for her to relax and release her dry breath. Soon and silently the swords were put away for the first time in hours. Looking around she spotted the fox which meant that her sparring partner was still around. Smirking to herself now feeling a bit refreshed, but sore in the legs she knew that Hoshiko was around here somewhere.
Glancing to the moon, the smirk grew in satisfaction. It had been an almost successful training day for her and the beauty of the sky made it all worth losing to that boy. Now to find that boy...
"'Ey! Hoshiko I knoo' you steel aroun' here. Why don't we call it a tie. Eh?" With her fists at her hips she flicked the stalk of grass up in down between her teeth.

As Hoshiko watched the moon he could only think about the spar that just took place. ‘Fast, great with Taijutsu, not too bad with her basic jutsu, Yakkai eh? I wonder why she didn’t become Chuunin. Was it her team’s fault? Did they die while trying to complete the Exam? Did they run out of time to complete the exam?’ Many more questions popped into the boy’s head, but they were interrupted by the moon’s beauty.
‘Mom, dad, I know you’re out their. When I get permission to leave the gates, I will come looking for you. You both have to be alive. You were great shinobi, and they can say what they want. I know that you’re alive and in well being. I hope you guys protect each other, because there’s no telling what’s beyond Leaf’s Gates.’ Hoshiko twirled a kunai around in his hand while looking to the sky.
‘And if I find out somebody did kill you two.’ Hoshiko threw the kunai pinpoint to the trunk of another tree nearby. Hoshiko then was a little surprised to hear Yakkai’s voice again. He looked over to her, looking at her as she stood in the moonlight.
“A tie it is.” Hoshiko chuckled a bit when he spoke to the girl, trying to look her in the eyes from the branch. Hoshiko looked up to the moon once more from the tree he was perched in. “What a lovely sight.” He would half say to himself watching only the moon’s glow.

Yakkai questioned the abrupt kunai that cuddled it's blade between the tree's bark. Was that some way of saying "Hey, what's up?" or "It ain't no tie, I win" or "Let's keep fighting", but which one? When a ping of pain made it's way through her suddenly pounding head she decided that the latter of what it meant wasn't welcomed at all. Yakkai still feel woozy and tired, but wouldn't show that weakness in the remainder of the time that she stayed here.
“What a lovely sight.”
"Huh?" Almost a rhetorical question. Her eyes flashed to the moon, watching a wraith-like cloud fly past it after a time. The two young shinobi's attention would both be placed on that moon for a few minutes that awkward silence, but neither seemed to mind. Yakkai herself was caught up looking over the scattered stars of the sky. Now, those were memorizing; Stars.
Each star was different, but each one lit up the sky even more so, in Yakkai's mind than the Moon itself.
"It's beautiful in Konehaw' at night." She half-whispered this while laying on her back, staring up with a indifferent smile on. Perhaps Hoshiko and her would be friends from now on if a conversation stirred up between them. Yet, that idea was the last things on Yakkai's mind. Why, it was hard to say what truely was on the girl's mind.

Hoshiko was glad he had someone to converse with. Ever since his mother and father left him alone, he’s had no one to talk to, or play with like the other kids did. He could only watch other kids play and have fun with others. Often when around others Hoshiko doesn’t know how to act, and that’s probably the reason he has almost no friends.
This may be because of his personality though. He often likes to play around, injuring others for the sheer fun of it. Maybe If he started to act more calm, he would gain more friends that way?
Hoshiko listened to the words of Yakkai, saying how Konoha looked beautiful in the dark hours. Hoshiko only smiled as he continued to look at the sky, unable to find any words that could describe such a sight.
“You know, I never really talk to others around the village, so I really don’t know what to say to hold a conversation. This is actually my first true time talking to someone else ever since,” The boy paused for a brief second, not wanting to say his what happened to his parents. “Ever since my parents left on a trip.”
Hoshiko looked over to Yakkai, a serious expression on his face. “I guess you could say you’re the first person I held a conversation with.”

Wha'? He hadn't talk to anyone in that long? For Yakkai that was unheard of for she always seemed to be chatting it up with someone at least once a day. How could anyone stay so quiet? At first glance this kid was considered weird for such a trait but she already liked the boy from before and there was no sense in judging him differently now.
“I guess you could say you’re the first person I held a conversation with.”
Head tilted down she now looked to the grass with an equally serious expression on as Hoshiko had. "Eh-n' guess that a good thing and bad." Her voice wasn't as hyped up as it was before but it still had that joyful tone to it. "Where'd your parents go then? I sure they come back soon an'way." Shrugging she didn't know anything personal about Hoshiko so she assumed. When she was younger her parents went away on a long trading trip and didn't come back until months later. Those were days were more labor than fun.
Turning her lip strangely that grass stick from before fell to the ground. Likewise, her eyes went back up to Hoshiko to "check" up on him.
"What's it like to be a Choo'nin, anywa'?" Even though it seemed like it, this wasn't a change in topic. "I mean, ya' got any tricks to gettin' through the exams or such?"

“My parents left on some kind of mission. I never really knew why both of them had to go, or even why I wasn’t allowed to go, but it doesn’t matter now.” Hoshiko said aloud, quickly thinking up another lie to cover the lie he’d just told the girl. “Yea, they’re coming back. I don’t know the exact time, but they’ll be back.” Hoshiko once again vowed the return of his parents, whether he would find them or not.
Hoshiko listened as the girl asked about being a Chuunin. Hoshiko merely smirked, a small grin on his face. “A Chuunin isn’t much different from a Genin from what I can tell so far. I mean, I haven’t been one for long, but we get harder ranked missions, and we have a little more respect around the village.” “Though it’s not really noticeable.’ Hoshiko finished the sentence in his head, not caring much for the respect though.
Hoshiko’s eyes grazed the moon once again, he then took a look at his fox who was snoozing on the ground. Hoshiko then peered to Yakkai, having a question of his own for her. “Getting through the exams eh?” Hoshiko held a gaze on the girl.
“Well, our team was a bit older than some that took the exam. We were a little more experienced in the field of combat and such, so we had an edge right there. The first exam was easy. The team I was on easily got by.” Hoshiko then paused, thinking of the second exam. “The second part though. Since I didn’t have a good relationship with those two, we separated from each other nearly five hours into the test. That had to be the worst decision we’ve ever made.”
Hoshiko looked to the moon, taking his eyes off of Yakkai. He began to remember what happened as if it were yesterday. “When we split up, I found myself confronted by another team. These three had to be rookies.” Hoshiko laughed a bit. “I remember how their bodies shook with fear as they looked at me. They were bold though.” Hoshiko looked over to Yakkai and laughed.
“They all came at me, asking me for my scroll. To make a long story short I came out of the ordeal with a scroll, and that’s how my team made it through the second round. The third round of the exams were just as easy.” Hoshiko then paused again, looking to the moon. “So how did you guys fail the exams?” Hoshiko asked, a bit curious.
