Well his lie fooled her. Yakkai wasn't one to think or dwell upon these words, since, well, the thought of parents dying or the hint of such a circumstance was unheard of for her. So it was a wait-and-see sort of thing for Hoshiko now. Parents always came back...
Ah, a little more respect sounded nice regardless of the other perks of being a Chuunin. Even being a second year genin was hard at times because most even got dissed by the rookies. Annoying it was, but this idea escaped her whenher eyes flicked over to the fox who was scratching at an ear.
“So how did you guys fail the exams?”
In all honesty, that caught her off guard. She almost jumpd in her spot because she was so used to by now being the audience and not the storyteller. Yakkai, though did take the idea in stride even thogh by her expression one could tell her uncertainty about speaking on this subject. Nonetheless it took her a few minutes of "Ummms," "Ahhhs" and "Well, you see"'s before she actually spoke of her experience. Besides, the way Hoshiko said it "failed" was kind of harshed and almost made her wince.
"My team mates were idiots. I told tem' that bein' stoopid, runnin' ahead like that without meh, who was tryin' watch out who was around was a bad idea, but they don't listhen." Shrugging, she leaned agaisnt the nearest tree, looking to the ground like she hadn't a care in the word, even though the whole idea of her whole team ticked her off. "They rushed ahead while I stay in a tree. I tried to warn 'em, but tha' go knocked out by another squad that took my teammate's scroll and ran off." Rubbing against the tree, still not making eye contact, Yakkai finally shot a look to the sky.
"I had to drag their sorra' asses back to the gates cuz' they cound't continue." Her head titled back to Hoshiko with an amused look. "That my story. It sucks, so now I got to have a new team. No fair." She shook her head meerly smiling before letting out a chuckle.
